The man who showed mercy to a thirsty dog

ASSALAMU ALAIKUM TO MY ALL DEAR ISLAMIC BRO AND SIS

A man was once passing through a jungle. He began to feel very thirsty, so he went down a well to quench his thirst, by drinking some water. When he came out, he saw a very thirsty dog panting and licking the mud. The man felt very sorry for the dog, but had nothing with which to draw water from the well. He decided that the only way to help the dog, would be to use his leather socks and go down the well to fetch water. This is exactly what he did.

As he came up, he held the socks filled with water in his mouth. He then gave the water to the dog to drink. What a happy ending to this of a brave man, isnt it ? But thats not all Allah was pleased with this mans deed and forgave him.JAZAK ALLAHU KHAIR AND DONT FORGET TO SHARE IT

Buy a kingdom for a glass of water

ASSALAMU ALAIKUM TO ALL MY DEAR ISLAMIC BRO AND SIS

Once Sheikh Ibne Sammak (may Allah have mercy on him) paid a visit to a king. It so chanced that, when the Sheikh greeted him, the king was holding a glass of water in his hand. He said to the Sheikh, "Give me a word of advice." The Sheikh said, "Suppose you could have this glass of water only at the cost of your entire kingdom and you have to choose between dying of thirst or giving your kingdom away, which one would you prefer?" The king replied, "I would naturally prefer a glass of water and part with my entire kingdom." The Sheikh said, "Then, I do not understand why anyone should take joy in a kingdom which is worth only a glass of water."These incidents show that each one of us has been granted by ALLAH PAK such precious gifts, the value whereof cannot be determined in terms of millions and billions of dollars.

We are extremly rich, yet we don't know it

ASSALAMU ALAIKUM TO MY ALL DEAR ISLAMIC BRO AND SIS

Once a person came to a Shaikh (Islamic scholar) and complained to him about his own poverty, saying that he was in great distress and would prefer death to such a life. The Shaikh said to him, "Are you willing to have your eyes taken out in exchange for ten thousand Dirhams (silver coins)." He replied "Certainly not." The Shaikh said "Would you like to have your tongue plucked out and get ten thousand Dirhams in return?" The man said, "Of course not." The Shaikh said, "Would you agree to having both your hands and feet cut off in return for twenty thousand Dirhams." The man said that he would not. The Shaikh asked "Are you willing to be made a mad man and get ten thousand Dirhams in return?" The man said that he was not willing. At this, the Shaikh said to him, "Are you not ashamed of yourself? You admit that Allah Ta'ala has granted you so many precious gifts, the value whereof, in your own estimation, exceeds fifty thousand Dirhams (counting only a few gifts, by way of illustration) and yet you complain of poverty!"The value of the above mentioned gifts can be fully understood when we lose them. Let us be more thankful to our Lord. JAZAK ALLAHU KHAIR AND PLZ DONT FORGET TO SHARE IT

How thirty people ate in the dark

ASSALAMU ALAIKUM TO MY ALL DEAR ISLAMIC BRO AND SIS

Sheikh Abul Hasan Antaki (RA.) lived in Raye, a city in Khorassan. One day, it chanced that the Sheikh had more than thirty guests, while he did not have sufficient bread with him. He could not bake more bread, for, it was late at night. So, he broke the few loaves he had into small pieces and spread them over a piece of cloth, which he had laid before his guests. When they were going to start eating, the Sheikh put out the lamp. Everybody seemed to start eating and one could hear the sound of their chewing. After a while, the sound stopped and it was presumed that everybody had finished eating. The Sheikh then lighted the lamp and they saw that all the pieces were lying untouched; nobody had eaten anything. Because the food was little, everyone was thinking about his brothers next to him and wanted them to eat instead.May ALLAH PAK make us useful for each other in terms of pleasing ALLAH PAK.JAZAK ALLAHU KHAIR AND PLZ DONT FORGET TO SHARE IT

The truth has come

ASSALAMU ALAIKUM TO MY DEAR ALL ISLAMIC BRO AND SIS

It is stated on the authority of Abdullah bin Masood RADI ALLAHU ANHU that the unbelievers of the Quraish had installed 360 idols in Ka'bah (ALLAHU AKBER) so strongly that their feet were fixed with lead. When Makkah was conquered and the Prophet (SALLALLAHU ALAIHI WASALLAM) entered the Holy Ka'bah, he had a stick in his hand. With it, he started pointing towards the idols and reciting this verse: Truth has (now) arrived, and falsehood perished (Surah Al Isra:81). The idol, to which the Prophet (SALLAHU ALAIHI WASALLAM) pointed on its front, fell down to its rear side and the idol, to which he pointed from its rear side, fell down flat on its front side. A bird's nest

ASSALAMU ALAIKUM TO MY DEAR ALL ISLAMIC BRO AND SIS

The speech was mainly about the Greatness of Allah. Here is one interesting excerpt from the lecture: A poet said "Who has taught the birds how to make their nests? The birds make their nests in such a way as if a king is building his palace according to his desires." The birds create beautiful houses with the help of their beaks. They do not use a single stone or brick. They collect straws one at a time and puts them in their place. Within a short time, the birds make a comfortable nest for them to live in. The nest that the birds make using their beaks are so dynamic that we can't even make them using our hands. Indeed, Allah has given the birds this knowledge from His infinite bounties.

Why bitter fruits were sweet to Ayyaz

ASSALAMU ALAIKUM TO MY ALL DEAR ISLAMIC BRO AND SIS

There was a famous ruler by the name Sultan Mahmud and he had a slave called Ayyaz. Sultan Mahmud loved Ayyaz very much because of his great wisdom. From time to time, Sultan would test Ayyaz with various things to see how much love Ayyaz had for him. One day, Sultan Mahmud gathered the most bitter fruits from his garden and called Ayyaz. Sultan told Ayyaz to eat them. Ayyaz took the fruits in his hands and kissed them and then started eating them without any hesitation. Sultan observed that Ayyaz was eating the fruits with great pleasure and the bitter taste was not affecting him in any way. Now Sultan started thinking that he might've picked the wrong fruits, so, he took one of the fruits from Ayyaz to find out. As soon as Sultan took a bite, he was overwhelmed by the bitterness of the fruit and started screaming for water. When Sultan settled down, he asked Ayyaz why he was unaffected by the fruits. Ayyaz said "You only see the bitterness of the fruits but you don't see the one who gave them to me? They were given to me by the king himself!"

My dear friends, today we find some commandments of ALLAH PAK to be bitter and hard to follow. However, we should rather follow them with great love because they were given to us by the King of all kings, ALLAH PAK.SUBHAN ALLAH ,SUBHAN ALLAH ,SUBHAN ALLAH...

A pond full of milk

ASSALAMU ALAIKUM TO MY ALL DEAR ISLAMIC BRO AND SIS

Once there was a king who told some of his workers to dig a pond. Once the pond was dug, the king made an announcement to his people saying that one person from each household has to bring a glass of milk during the night and pour it into the pond. So, the pond should be full of milk by the morning. After receiving the order, everyone went home. One man prepared to take the milk during the night. He thought that since everyone will bring milk, he could just hide a glass of water and pour inside the pond. Because it will be dark at night, no one will notice. So he quickly went and poured the water in the pond and came back. In the morning, the king came to visit the pond and to his surprise the pond was only filled with water! What has happened is that everyone was thinking like the other man that "I don't have to put the milk, someone else will do it."

Dear friends, when it comes to help the Religion of ALLAH PAK, do not think that others will take care of it. Rather, it starts from you, if you don't do it, no one else will do it. So, change yourself to the way of ALLAH PAK to serve Him and that will make the difference.

As milk covers the water

ASSALAMU ALAIKUM TO MY ALL DEAR ISLAMIC BRO AND SIS

Bilal (may ALLAH PAK be pleased with him) was mercilessly persecuted by his master. Umayya bin Khalaf who was the worst enemy of Islam, would make him lie down on the burning sand at mid-day and would place a heavy stone on his chest so that he could not move even a limb. He would then say to him: Renounce Islam or swelter and die in this state. Even under these afflictions Bilal would exclaim: Ahad (the One ALLAH PAK) Ahad (the One ALLAH PAK). At last Abu Bakr freed Bilal from Umayya.

Dear Muslims BRO AND SIS , when Bilal was asked how he endured all these tortures and pain, he remarked that his belief in Allah covered all the pains. It's like a glass of milk. If you put water into the glass of milk, the water takes the colour of the milk. The same way, when Bilal was tortured, his faith overcame the pain.

I feel clean for the first time

ASSALAMU ALAIKUM TO MY ALL DEAR ISLAMIC BRO AND SIS

Once a pious Muslim brother got a job in a restaurant. He took with himself a container for water so that he can use it for toilet purposes. So, everytime he goes to the toilet, he fills the container with water and takes it with him. One day, a Christian man, who also works there, saw him taking water and asked him about the reason for it. The Muslim brother told him that after releasing the dirty materials, we should clean that place and that cleanliness is a major part of Islam. The man said that why not use the toilet papers? The brother asked him that if such dirty thing touched his hands, would he use a toilet paper to wipe it off or use water? The man understood and said that he would use water. The next day, the Christian man brought a container for himself and used it during relieving himself. When he came out of the toilet, he was crying and tears were rolling down his cheeks. The Muslim brother asked him about why he is crying. The Christian man said that "For the first time in my life, I feel completely clean." Thereafter, he accepted Islam and became a devouted Muslim.

Love for the mother

ASSALAMU ALAIKUM TO MY DEAR ALL ISLAMIC BRO AND SIS

Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) was single, without wife or child when he became a Muslim. With him however was his mother who was still a mushrik (idolator). He longed, and prayed, for her to become a Muslim but she adamantly refused. One day, he invited her to have faith in ALLAH PAK alone and follow His Prophet SALLALLAHU ALAIHI WASALLAM but she uttered some words about the Prophet which saddened him greatly (ALLAHU AKBER). With tears in his eyes, he went to the noble Prophet SALLALLAHU ALAIHI WASALLAM who said to him: "What makes you cry, O Abu Hurayrah?" "I have not let up in inviting my mother to Islam but she has always rebuffed me. Today, I invited her again and I heard words from her which I do not like. Do make supplication to ALLAH Almighty to make the heart of Abu Hurayrah's mother incline to Islam." The Prophet SALLALLAHU ALAIHI WASALLAM responded to Abu Hurayrah's request and prayed for his mother. Abu Hurayrah (RADI.ALLAHU ANHU )said: "I went home and found the door closed. I heard the splashing of water and when I tried to enter my mother said: "Stay where you are, O Abu Hurayrah." And after putting on her clothes, she said, "Enter!" I entered and she said: "I testify that there is no god but Allah PAK and I testify that Muhammad SALLALLAHU ALAIHI WASALLAM is His Servant and His Messenger." "I returned to the Prophet SALLALLAHU ALAIHI WASALLAM, peace be on him, weeping with joy just as an hour before I had gone weeping from sadness and said: "I have good news, O Messenger of Allah SALLALLAHU ALAIHI WASALLAM. ALLAH PAK has responded to your prayer and guided the mother of Abu Hurayrah to Islam.

Let us make strong effort and supplications so that our parents can be guided if they are not already

Rasulullah (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: Who followed a bier today? Abu Bakr said: I did. Rasulullah (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: Who fed a poor man today? Abu Bakr replied: I did. Rasulullah (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: who visited a sick person today? Abu Bakr replied: I did. Rasulullah (peace and blessings be upon him) then said: Anyone in whom these good deeds are combined will certainly enter Paradise. Source: Sahih Muslim.

Story of a man called Juraij

ASSALAMU ALAIKUM TO MY DEAR ISLAMIC BRO AND SIS

Narrated Abu Huraira:
Allah's Apostle said, "There was an Israeli man called Juraij, while he was praying, his mother came and called him, but he did not respond to her call. He said (to himself) whether he should continue the prayer or reply to his mother. She came to him the second time and called him and said, "O Allah! Do not let him die until he sees the faces of prostitutes." Juraij used to live in a hermitage. A woman said that she would entice Juraij, so she went to him and presented herself (for an evil act) but he refused. She then went to a shepherd and allowed him to commit an illegal sexual intercourse with her and later she gave birth to a boy. She alleged that the baby was from Juraij. The people went to Juraij and broke down his hermitage, pulled him out of it and abused him. He performed ablution and offered the prayer, then he went to the male (baby) and asked him; "O boy! Who is your father?" The baby replied that his father was the shepherd. The people said that they would build for him a hermitage of gold but Juraij asked them to make it of mud only." The cry of the grave

ASSALAMU ALAIKUM TO MY DEAR ALL ISLAMIC BRO AND SIS

Hadrat Abu Huraira (RA) is reported to have said that once he, in the company of the Holy Prophet (SAW), joined a funeral. When the Holy Prophet (SAW) reached the graveyard, he went to a grave and told that there was not a single day that the grave did not make the clear announcement. "Oh, the offspring of Adam! you have forgotten me, I am the place of solitude and I am the abode of loneliness, I am a lodging of much straitened provided the Almighty expands me in the case of a person whom He holds in esteem. After that the Holy Prophet (SAW) said: The grave is either one of the gardens of Paradise or one of the pits of hell.

Easy way to change ourselves

ASSALAMU ALAIKUM TO MY DEAR ALL ISLAMIC BBRO AND SIS

There was a king long time ago and he had a vast kingdom. Though he had tremendous amount of wealth, but he didn't have peace of heart. So he decided to be a good Muslim. He heard that there is a very pious man who stays in a jungle and that many people go to visit him for advice. The king decided to visit him for some advice also. When he got there, he asked the pious man "How can I become pious like you?" The pious man replied that remember death 40 times a day for 40 days. The king thought that it was very easy and he thanked him and left for his palace. He remembered death 40 times a day for 40 days but no change came to his life. He was same as before.
The king became angry and called that pious man to his court. The king told him that he is nothing but a liar and that he should be killed before he fools other people. It was decided that he will be beheaded the next day. But the Pious man had a request. He asked if he could become the king for a day. He promised that after getting the command, he will not kill the previous king or do any harm to him. So, the king agreed and made the pious man the king for a day. As soon as the pious man became the king, he went to the market and saw a man selling peanuts. He told the soldiers to catch that man and bring him to the palace. So, the peanut sales man was brought to the court. The pious man told the peanut sales man that he will be killed tomorrow. The peanut sales man became frightened and dropped all his peanuts. He started crying and asked what he did. But the pious man said that he will be killed tomorrow and locked up in jail for today.
Now, as the peanut sales man knew that he is going to die, he forgot about everything else and started asking forgiveness from Allah. He started praying and doing excessive dhikir (remembrance of Allah). The Pious man ordered that the most beautiful prostitute in the city should be brought and placed in the jail with peanut sales man. She was brought and she asked the man to commit adultery with her. Now the pious man brought the previous king and told him to watch. The peanut sales man started yelling at the woman to get away because he is going to die tomorrow and this evil deed will surely cause him problems with Allah.
Then the pious man asked the previous king if he understood what is going on. The Pious man explained that when you really know that you will die, then you will surely stay away from all evil deeds and engage yourself into the worship of Allah. So, remembering death once properly would be enough to change the life of a human being.
Ofcourse, the peanut sales man was released afterwards.

Fragrance from a grave

ASSALAMU ALAIKUM TO MY DEAR ALL ISLAMIC BRO AND SIS

A group of learned scholars were travelling through some villages of Pakistan. They reached a particular village where some people came up to them and requested them to visit a grave yard. Upon reaching the graveyard, they smelt a beautiful fragrance coming out from one of the newly dug graves. The villagers asked the scholars if they knew why this smell is eminating from that particular grave. The scholars decided to meet some family members of that person who died to find out what he used to do. After meeting them, they discovered that the man didn't know how to read the Quran. However, after every Fajr salah, he would sit with the Quran and put his fingers on verses and say "My Lord has spoken the truth here. My Lord has spoken the truth here." Then the scholars concluded that the beautiful fragrance is coming out because of this deed of that man. Source: This story was narrated to me by Shaikh Mahmud Abdi from Yemen who personally knows one of the scholars who were travelling.
May Allah also give us the ability to read and love the Holy Quran. Ameen.

Story of a Jinn

ASSALAMU ALAIKUM  TO MY DEAR ALL ISLAMIC BRO AND SIS

The well-known scholar Khateeb has stated on the authority of Hadhrat Jabir bin Abdullah who stated: "Once, we were travelling with the Prophet (SAW). The Prophet was sitting under a tree for taking rest. All of a sudden, there came a snake near him, took his mouth near the hole of his ear. After sometime, the Prophet took his mouth near its ear and said something. On that, the snake vanished in such a way as if the earth had swallowed it. We submitted to the Prophet that we were very much frightened when you let it reach near your ear. The Prophet told that it was an animal and in fact, it was a jinn who had forgotten a few verses of such and such Surah and the jinns had sent it to inquire about the same verses. Because of your presence, he came changing its form to that of a snake and inquired about the verses accordingly.JAZAK ALLAHU KHAIR AND PLZ DONT FORGET TO SHARE IT

First Words of a Little Girl

ASSALAMU ALAIKUM TO MY DEAR ALL ISLAMIC BRO AND SIS

The following incident was mentioned by a Shaikh from Toronto, Canada. The incident is about his 18 months old daughter. The shaikh also has a son who is about 3 years old. The shaikh has already started teaching the young son about Quran and ahadith without wasting any time. Mashallah, the boy has already memorized surah Fatiha and various other surahs. One day, his young daughter who is only 18 months old was sitting beside the son while he was asked to recite surah Fatiha by the shaikh. This little girl is pronouncing her first words clearly in these days. Now, when the son recited the 5th verse of surah Fatiha untill "Ihdina Sirat...", the small girl suddenly said "Al Mustaqim" and completed the verse. Subhanallah! How blessed is this child whose first words are among the words of the Holy Quran, which she learned through her father when he was teaching her brother.
It is very important to teach Islam to our children in their early childhood. We can easily bend trees in any direction when they are still small. But when the trees become big and tall, 10 people pushing together is unable to bend them. Similarly, teaching the children when they are young is necessary so that they go towards the right direction.

The Wooden Bowl

ASSALAMU ALAIKUM TO MY DAR ALL ISLAMIC BHAI AND SIS

A frail old man went to live with his son, daughter-in-law, and four-year-old grandson. The old man's hands trembled, his eyesight was blurred, and his step faltered. The family ate together at the table. But the elderly grandfather's shaky hands and failing sight made eating difficult. Peas rolled off his spoon onto the floor. When he grasped the glass, milk spilled on the tablecloth. The son and daughter-in-law became irritated with the mess. We must do something about Grandfather," said the son. I've had enough of his spilled milk, noisy eating, and food on the floor. So the husband and wife set a small table in the corner. There, Grandfather ate alone while the rest of the family enjoyed dinner. Since Grandfather had broken a dish or two, his food was served in a wooden bowl.
When the family glanced in Grandfather's direction, sometimes he had a tear in his eye as he sat alone. Still, the only words the couple had for him were sharp admonitions when he dropped a fork or spilled food.
The four-year-old watched it all in silence. One evening before supper, the father noticed his son playing with wood scraps on the floor. He asked the child sweetly, "What are you making?" Just as sweetly, the boy responded, "Oh, I am making a little bowl for you and Mama to eat your food when I grow up." The four-year-old smiled and went back to work.
The words so struck the parents that they were speechless. Then tears started to stream down their cheeks. Though no word was spoken, both knew what must be done. That evening the husband took Grandfather's hand and gently led him back to the family table. For the remainder of his days he ate every meal with the family. And for some reason, neither husband nor wife seemed to care any longer when a fork was dropped, milk spilled, or the tablecloth soiled.
Allah mentions in Surah Al Isra 17:23-24
And your Lord has decreed that you worship none but Him. And that you be dutiful to your parents. If one of them or both of them attain old age in your life, say not to them a word of disrespect, nor shout at them but address them in terms of honour.
And lower unto them the wing of submission and humility through mercy, and say: "My Lord! Bestow on them Your Mercy as they did bring me up when I was small."

The King and the Poor Man

ASSALAMU ALAIKUM TO MY DEAR ALL ISLAMIC BRO AND SIS

There was a king who decided to take a tour of his country. As he passed by different places, everyone rushed to see him. However, while passing by a certain place, he noticed a poor old man who did not pay any attention to the king's arrival and remained engaged in his own activities. The king went up to this poor man and asked why he did not join the people to see him. The poor man replied, "Before you, there was another king who once passed by this place. Everyone gathered to see him as well. But, few days later he died and was buried in a place nearby. A poor man also died during that time and was buried near the king's grave. After some time, a strong flood passed through that area causing those graves to overturn. As a result, the bones of the poor man became mixed up with those of the king's. We could not differentiate between them any longer. After seeing this, it does not matter to me anymore as to who is a king and who is a beggar. In the end, our home is the same."

Junaid Baghdadi and Love for Allah

ASSALAMU ALAIKUM  TO MY DEAR ALL ISLAMIC BRO AND SIS

Once at the time of Hajj, there was a gathering in Mecca of some friends of Allah; the youngest among whom was Junaid Baghdadi (ra). In that gathering, there was a discussion on the subject of 'Love for Allah' and as to who is the lover of Allah. Many of them expressed their views on the subject, but Junaid (ra) kept quiet. He was pressed to say something.
With his head bowed down and tears in his eyes, he said, "The lover of Allah is he who forgets his own self, remains engaged in Allah's remembrance with due regard to all its requirements; sees Allah with the eyes of his heart, which is burnt by the heat of Allah's fear; Allah's remembrance affects him like a cup of wine, he speaks the word of Allah as if All-Mighty Allah speaks through his mouth; if he moves, he does so under the command of Allah; he gets peace of mind only through the obedience of Allah; and when such a stage is reached, his eating, drinking, sleeping, awakening and, in short, all his actions are for the pleasure of Allah; he neither pays heed to the worldly customs, nor does he attach any importance to unfriendly criticism by people."

The Pious Man and the Shopkeeper

ASSALAMU ALAIKUM TO MY DEAR ALL ISLAMIC BRO AND SIS

There lived a pious man all by himself, who spent most of his time in praying, fasting and praising Allah. Almost all his waking hours were utilised in meditation and devotions. He was very happy with his spiritual progress. No wicked thoughts came to his mind and no evil temptations entered his heart.
One night, he dreamt a rather disturbing dream. He saw that a shopkeeper in the town was far superior to him in spirituality and that he must go to him to learn the basics of true spiritual life.
In the morning, the pious man went in search of the shopkeeper. He found him busy with his customers, selling goods and collecting money with a cheerful face. He sat there in a corner of the shop and watched the shopkeeper carefully. No signs of any spiritual life at all, he said to himself. His dream could not be true. But then he saw the shopkeeper disappear to pray his Salah. When he returned, he was busy dealing with money matters again.
The shopkeeper noticed the pious man sitting in the corner and asked: "As Salamu Alaikum, would you like something, brother?"
"Wa Alaikum As Salam. Oh! No! No!" said the pious man. "I don't want to buy anything, but I want to ask you a question." He then related his dream.
"Well, that is very simple to explain," said the shopkeeper, "but you will have to do something for me before I answer your question."
"I will do anything for you," replied the pious man.
"All right! Take this saucer; there is some mercury in it. Go to the other end of the street and come back fast within half an hour. If the mercury falls out of the saucer, you will hear nothing from me. There you go now."
The pious man took the saucer and started running. The mercury nearly wobbled out of the saucer. He saved it just in time, and slowed down. Then he remembered he had to return within half an hour, so he started walking at a fast pace. At long last he returned puffing and panting. "Here is your mercury, safe and sound," he told the shopkeeper. "Now tell me the true interpretation of my dream."
The shopkeeper looked at the pious man's weary condition and asked him: "Well, friend, how many times did you remember Allah while you were going from this end of the street to the other?"
"Remember Allah!" exclaimed the pious man. "I did not remember Him at all. I was so worried about the mercury in the saucer."
"But I do remember Him all the time," said the shopkeeper. "When I am doing my business, I am also carrying mercury in a saucer. I am fair, honest and kind to my customers. I never forget Allah Ta'ala in my dealings with other men."
"Men whom neither trade nor sale (business) diverts from the remembrance of Allaah (with heart and tongue) nor from performing As‑Salaah (Iqaamat‑as‑Salaah) nor from giving the Zakaah. They fear a Day when hearts and eyes will be overturned (out of the horror of the torment of the Day of Resurrection). That Allaah may reward them according to the best of their deeds, and add even more for them out of His Grace. And Allaah provides without measure to whom He wills" [Al Quran, Surah an-Noor 24:37-38]JAZAK ALLAHU KHAIR

The Boy Who Used to Delay His Prayers

ASSALAMU ALAIKUM TO MY DEAR ALL ISLAMIC BHAI AND SIS

PLZ DONT LEAVE THE SALAH

He remembered his grandmother's warning about praying on time: "My son, you shouldn't leave prayer to this late time." His grandmother's age was 70 but whenever she heard the Adhan, she got up like an arrow and performed Salah/Namaz/prayer. He, however could never win over his ego to get up and pray. Whatever he did, his Salah was always the last to be offered and he prayed it quickly to get it in on time. Thinking of this, he got up and realized that there were only 15 minutes left before Salat-ul Isha. He quickly made Wudhu and performed Salat-ul Maghrib. While making Tasbih, he again remembered his grandmother and was embarrassed by how he had prayed. His grandmother prayed with such tranquility and peace. He began making Dua and went down to make Sajdah and stayed like that for a while. He had been at school all day and was tired, so tired. He awoke abruptly to the sound of noise and shouting. He was sweating profusely. He looked around. It was very crowded. Every direction he looked in was filled with people. Some stood frozen looking around, some were running left and right and some were on their knees with their heads in their hands just waiting. Pure fear and apprehension filled him as he realized where he was.

His heart was about to burst. It was the Day of Judgment. When he was alive, he had heard many things about the questioning on the Day of Judgment, but that seemed so long ago. Could this be something his mind made up? No, the wait and the fear were so great that he could not have imagined this. The interrogation was still going on. He began moving frantically from people to people to ask if his name had been called. No one could answer him. All of a sudden his name was called and the crowd split into two and made a passageway for him. Two people grabbed his arms and led him forward. He walked with unknowing eyes through the crowd. The angels brought him to the center and left him there. His head was bent down and his whole life was passing in front of his eyes like a movie. He opened his eyes but saw only another world. The people were all helping others. He saw his father running from one lecture to the other, spending his wealth in the way of Islam. His mother invited guests to their house and one table was being set while the other was being cleared. He pleaded his case; "I too was always on this path. I helped others. I spread the word of Allah. I performed my Salah. I fasted in the month of Ramadan. Whatever Allah ordered us to do, I did. Whatever he ordered us not to do, I did not." He began to cry and think about how much he loved Allah. He knew that whatever he had done in life would be less than what Allah deserved and his only protector was Allah. He was sweating like never before and was shaking all over. His eyes were fixed on the scale, waiting for the final decision. At last, the decision was made. The two angels with sheets of paper in their hands, turned to the crowd. His legs felt like they were going to collapse. He closed his eyes as they began to read the names of those people who were to enter Jahannam/Hell.His name was read first. He fell on his knees and yelled that this couldn't be, "How could I go to Jahannam? I served others all my life, I spread the word of Allah to others." His eyes had become blurry and he was shaking with sweat. The two angels took him by the arms. As his feet dragged, they went through the crowd and advanced toward the blazing flames of Jahannam. He was yelling and wondered if there was any person who was going to help him. He was yelling of all the good deeds he had done, how he had helped his father, his fasts, prayers, the Qur'an that he read, he was asking if none of them would help him. The Jahannam angels continued to drag him. They had gotten closer to the Hellfire. He looked back and these were his last pleas. Had not Rasulullah [saw] said, "How clean would a person be who bathes in a river five times a day, so too does the Salah performed five times cleanse someone of their sins?" He began yelling, "My prayers? My prayers? My prayers?"The two angels did not stop, and they came to the edge of the abyss of Jahannam. The flames of the fire were burning his face. He looked back one last time, but his eyes were dry of hope and he had nothing left in him. One of the angels pushed him in. He found himself in the air and falling towards the flames. He had just fallen five or six feet when a hand grabbed him by the arm and pulled him back. He lifted his head and saw an old man with a long white beard. He wiped some dust off himself and asked him, "Who are you?" The old man replied, "I am your prayers." "Why are you so late! I was almost in the Fire! You rescued me at the last minute before I fell in." The old man smiled and shook his head. "You always performed me at the last minute, and did you forget?" At that instant, he blinked and lifted his head from Sajdah. He was in a sweat. He listened to the voices coming from outside. He heard the adhan for Salat-ul Isha. He got up quickly and went to perform Wudhu. "Say Your Prayers Before Prayers For You Are Said."JAZAK ALLAHU KHIAR

The Power of Istighfar

ASSALAMU ALAIKUM TO MY DEAR  ALL ISLAMIC BRO AND SIS

This story about "Istighfar" is from the life of Imam Ahmed Bin Hanbal, who is considered as a renowned scholar of Islam and a famous theologian. Imam Ahmed is also considered to be the founder of the Hanbali school of fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence) and is one of the most celebrated Sunni theologians, often referred to as the "Sheikh ul-Islam" or the "Imam of Ahl al-Sunnah."
During his old age, while Imam Ahmed was traveling he stopped by a town. After the prayers, he wanted to stay for the night in the masjid yard because he didn't know anyone in the town. Owing to his humility, he hadn't introduced himself to anyone thinking that if he did, he would be welcomed by many people.
Failing to recognize Ahmed bin Hanbal, the caretaker of the mosque refused to let him stay in the mosque. As Imam Ahmed was quite old, the caretaker had to drag him out of the mosque. On seeing this, a baker from a nearby place felt pity for this man (Imam Ahmed) and offered to be the host to him for the night. During his stay with the baker, Imam Ahmed observed that the baker would constantly recite Istighfar (seek forgiveness from Allah). Imam Ahmed asked the baker if the constant practice of saying Istighfar had any effect on him. The baker responded by telling Imam Ahmed that Allah had accepted all of his duas (supplications), except one. When he asked him what dua was it that hadn't been accepted, the baker replied that he had been asking Allah to provide him the privilege to meet the famous scholar Imam Ahmed bin Hanbal.
On this, Imam Ahmed bin Hanbal said that Allah had not only listened to his dua but had dragged him onto his (the baker's) doorsteps. [Summarized from Al Jumuah magazine, vol 19, issue 7]
This story is a reminder of the power of saying Istighfar (seeking forgiveness) frequently.

YOUM E ASHURA

ASSALAMU ALAIKUM to my all dear ISLAMIC brothers n sisters

Islamic Dates>>Youm-e-Ashura - Sunni

Perspective Introduction

Youm-e-Ashura, or the day of Ashura, isthe 10th Muharram. Its meaning is derivedfrom the word ‘asha nura’ which istranslated as ‘enlightened day’.It is a significant date in the Islamiccalendar due to many events which haveoccurred on this particular day, includingthe martyrdom of Sayyidina Imam Hussainin the battle of Karbala.
Events which Occurred on the 10thMuharram
In Hazrat Sayyidina Abdul Qadir Jilani’sfamous book, Ghunya li-Talibi Tariq al-Haqq, he writes of the following incidentswhich occurred on Ashura:- Allah accepted the repentance of ProphetAdam (A.S) after his exile from Paradise; - Allah saved Prophet Nuh (A.S) and hiscompanions in the ark; - Allah extinguished the fire in whichProphet Ibrahim (A.S) was thrown into byNimrod [Pharaoh]; - Allah spoke directly to Prophet Musa(A.S) and gave him the Commandments.- On this same 10th of Muharram, ProphetAyyub (A.S) was restored to health (fromleprosy); - Prophet Yusuf (A.S) was reunited with hisfather Prophet Yaqub (A.S); - Prophet Yunus (A.S) was released fromthe belly of the fish; - The sea was divided as the nation of Israelwas delivered from captivity, andPharoah’s army was destroyed.- Ashura is also the day when ProphetDawud (A.S) was forgiven; - the kingdom of Prophet Sulaiman (A.S)was restored; - Prophet Isa (A.S) was raised to Jannah,- And Sayyidina Imam Hussain , grandsonof the Holy Prophet , achieved the honourof Martyrdom at Karbala.
Voluntary [Nafl] Worship on Youm-e-Ashura
- Nafl Namaaz:
Sayyidina Rasulallah SALLALLAHU ALAIHI WASALLAM said, "That personwho performs four Rakaats of Namaz onthe day of Ashura by reciting Surah Ikhlaas11 times after Surah Fatiha in everyRakaat, Almighty Allah will forgive fiftyyears of his sins, and he will blessed with aMimbar (pulpit) of Noor (Light)."[Nuzhat Al-Majalis Wa Muntakhab Al-Nafa'is - Vol.1, Pg. 181]
- Fasting:
Hazrat Qatadah reports that the HolyProphet said, "On the day of Ashura, Ihope that Almighty Allah will make thisday a means of Kafaara [expiation] for pastsins."[Mishkat Shareef, Pg. 179]
Abu Huraira reports that the Holy Prophetsaid that after Ramadan, the fasts ofMuharram have the greatest excellence.[Sahih Muslim]
In the year 10 A.H., the Holy Prophet waskept the fast of Ashura with the NobleCompanions, who enquired, "Surely, this isalso the day which is honoured by the Jewsand Christians." The Holy Prophet replied,"If I am alive next year, then I shall alsofast on the 9th of Muharram [as well as the10th]."[Mishkat Shareef, Pg. 179]
Thus, the Muslims worship is keptdistinguished and separate from the ways ofthe non-Muslims. It is for this reason thatwe should not only fast on the 10th, butalso on the 9th of Muharram-ul-Haraam.
- Other Virtuous Acts:One who stays awake on the night ofAshura [10th Muharram] gains the Sawaab[spiritual Reward] of the Angels.[Tafseer Ruhul Bayaan]
The following various deeds for Ashura arementioned in Ghunya li-Talibi Tariq al-Haqq, by Sayyidina Abdul Qadir Jilani :- Whoever fasts on this day is like one whofasts all his life. - Whoever clothes a naked person Allahwill release him from a painful punishment. - He who visits a sick person, Allah willgrant him a reward that will not bedecreased. - Whoever places his hand on an orphan’shead, or feeds a hungry person or giveswater to a thirsty man, Allah will feed hima feast from Paradise and will quench histhirst with Salsabil (a wine that does notintoxicate). - And whoever takes a bath on this day willenjoy excellent health and freedom fromsickness and indolence. - Whoever provides generously for hisfamily on this day, Allah will be generousto him throughout this year. - And whoever applies Kuhl to his eyes willnever suffer from eye-sore again.
Expressing Grief on Ashura
It is permissible to express sorrow and griefon Ashura in a silent or controlled manner, upon remembrance of the events of Karbalaand the sacrifice made by our belovedImam Hussain.
However, it is not permissible to expressgrief in the manner used by Shias, which isto beat themselves in such a disturbingmanner that blood flows from their bodieswhile they wail and cry loudly, also knownas ‘Matam’.Astagfirullah, this is a truly misguided actand tradition that has no place in Islam.
Verily, Sayyidina Rasulallah said, “He isnot from our group who slaps his cheeks, tears his clothes and cries in the manner ofthe people of Jahiliyyah (pre-Islamicignorance)."[Sahih Bukhari]
